Our company is named after the matriarch of our family, Zarin “Zari” Levy, Dan’s grandmother and Arik’s mother. Zari lived in the Iranian region of Kurdistan prior to moving to Israel in 1954. When we were thinking about what to call our company and brand, we thought about providing a warm, welcoming atmosphere; taking care of our customers as if they were our family; sharing in customers’ joy seeing their finished product; and being a trusted name in the industry.
We went through many potential names until, on the one year anniversary of Zari’s passing, we realized that she represented everything we wanted our company to be - warm, kind, supportive, and trusted... so we decided to name the company after her.
Father & Son
Zari Frames is owned by father and son Arik and Dan Levy. Dan, who ran a marketing business for 8 years prior to Zari Frames, came up with the idea during the COVID-19 pandemic while trying to think of ways to support his dad's art and custom framing business. Arik has owned and operated DGLM Gallery since 1996. Arik lives in the suburbs of Philadelphia with his wife (Dan's mom) Joanne, while Dan lives in south Philadelphia with his wife Meg.
